The sacred portals of Badrinath Dham were opened to thousands of devotees on Sunday morning, marking a significant moment in the Char Dham Yatra 2025. Present at the shrine, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj declared, “Today, the entire nation rejoices. Devotees should come in large numbers to seek blessings at the Dham, where they can experience true spiritual bliss.” The temple was decorated with 40 quintals of flowers, creating a majestic setting for the ritual opening.
Badrinath’s opening follows Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath, completing the Char Dham circuit.

To ensure safety and smooth operations, Uttarakhand DGP Deepam Seth and ADG V Murugeshan conducted an inspection of the arrangements at Badrinath ahead of the opening. Their review covered security, traffic flow, crowd management, and emergency communication systems along the pilgrimage route.
Over 22 lakh pilgrims have already registered at the Rishikesh Transit Camp, highlighting the massive scale and devotional fervor surrounding the yatra. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and smooth pilgrimage, especially at Kedarnath, where terrain challenges persist.
