A major fire broke out early Saturday in the 67-storey Marina Pinnacle skyscraper—also known as Tiger Tower—in Dubai Marina, prompting a large-scale emergency operation that saw the safe evacuation of over 3,800 residents from 764 apartments, reported indiatoday.in.

Firefighters worked for six hours to contain the blaze, cooling operations still underway.

According to officials, specialised firefighting and rescue units from Dubai Civil Defence managed to bring the fire under control after an intensive six-hour operation. All 3,820 residents were safely escorted out of the high-rise, with no casualties or injuries reported. The Dubai Media Office confirmed that smoke still visible at the site is due to ongoing cooling operations, and that the situation remains under control.

Cause of fire unknown; displaced residents to be relocated as probe begins.

Authorities are working closely with the building’s developer to arrange temporary accommodation for those displaced. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Marina Pinnacle has a history of fire-related incidents, with a notable kitchen fire in 2015 that spread between floors. It is also located near The Torch tower, which caught fire in both 2015 and 2017.

While the evacuation has been hailed as a success, several residents revealed that the internal response was delayed, with some reporting that they were unaware of the fire until they saw emergency vehicles outside or were alerted by neighbours

“I think there was no fire alarm, or it didn’t work,” said Aron, a nearby worker. “People were waving from the street, trying to alert others. Some residents assumed the fire was in another building.”

The fire, which started around 9:30 PM, drew crowds and rapid response from Dubai Civil Defence, police, and paramedics. Videos on social media captured residents fleeing through smoke-filled corridors, many clutching their pets or covering their faces.

“It was terrifying,” said one resident. “We were asleep. Thank God we made it out in time. Firefighters did an incredible job, but we’re unsure if we’ll recover anything from our apartment.”

Despite initial confusion, emergency teams ensured a smooth evacuation, guiding all residents—including animals—safely through stairwells and elevators without any reported fatalities.
