In a viral LinkedIn post, YesMadam CEO Mayank Arya says next time his children will fly economy to learn real values
A Noida-based entrepreneur’s reflection on parenting and privilege has sparked wide conversations online. Mayank Arya, CEO and co-founder of wellness startup YesMadam, recently shared why he regrets flying business class with his children — and why he won’t do it again , reported hindustantimes.com.
Recounting a recent family trip, Arya said he believed booking business class for his kids would make for a special, luxurious experience. The seats were spacious, the meals premium — but what was lost, he says, was the real joy of traveling together.
“Everything looked perfect, but something didn’t feel right. We weren’t sitting close. There were no silly questions like, ‘Papa, how much longer?’ No shared games or giggles. It felt… detached,” Arya wrote.
He added, “As a father, it’s not just about comfort. It’s about teaching them the right values. They need to understand effort and aspiration. Business class should be a reward they earn, not a gift they inherit.”
The post, which struck a chord with parents across platforms, quickly went viral. Many praised Arya for his honesty and for promoting grounded parenting values in an age of indulgence.
One commenter, @Siddharth Oswal, echoed the sentiment: “Leg space kam hota hai, par heart space zyada. The real fun is in economy.”
Another, @Rijul Udaypure, wrote: “This post is a reminder that the best part of travel is togetherness.”
Several users called it one of the best parenting insights they had seen in a long time. The broader takeaway: teaching kids humility and value through simple experiences can be more meaningful than luxury.
