Victim denied immigration clearance at Hyderabad airport after agent provided visit visa instead of work permit
A 28-year-old woman from East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, was duped by an overseas job agent who promised her a lucrative domestic helper job in Muscat, only to hand her a visit visa. A case has been registered by the RGI Airport police under the Emigration Act, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

The complainant, Egala Spandana, a resident of New SC Colony, Vendapudi, said that P. Prasad, a travel agent from Samarlakota, charged her ₹1 lakh for visa processing and medical exams. He promised a job in Muscat with a monthly salary of ₹30,000
On July 2, Spandana and two other women travelled from Samarlakota to Hyderabad via Rajahmundry, expecting to receive their visas at the airport boarding gate. However, immigration officers found that Spandana and another woman only had visit permits, and denied them clearance.
Police have booked Prasad under Section 318(4) of the BNS and Section 24 of the Emigration Act for fraudulent overseas recruitment.
