PM Wong’s first India visit as Singapore’s Prime Minister to mark 60 years of diplomatic ties
At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, undertook an official visit to India from September 02–04, 2025. This marks Prime Minister Wong’s first visit to India in his current capacity.
He is accompanied by his spouse, Lawrence Wong, along with a high-level delegation comprising Cabinet Ministers and senior officials.
During his visit, Prime Minister Wong is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Modi on September 4.
He also called on the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. In addition, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and other senior dignitaries will meet Prime Minister Wong.
Singapore remains an important partner in India’s ‘Act East’ policy. During Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Singapore in September 2024, bilateral relations were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, laying a strong foundation for deeper cooperation.

Visit coincides with 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations
The forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Wong reaffirms the commitment of both nations to strengthen ties across economic, cultural, and strategic spheres. It will also provide an opportunity for both leaders to review the broad-based partnership, explore new avenues of collaboration, and engage on regional as well as global issues of mutual interest.
