Direct flights between India and China to resume by late October

Civil aviation authorities of both nations finalize agreement to restore air connectivity amid gradual normalization of ties

New Delhi: India and China have agreed to resume direct air services between designated points in both countries by late October 2025, in line with the upcoming winter schedule. The decision follows a series of technical-level discussions between civil aviation authorities from both sides, aimed at revising the Air Services Agreement and restoring connectivity as relations gradually normalize.

The resumption of flights is expected to boost people-to-people contact and strengthen bilateral exchanges between the two Asian neighbors

Officials stated that the relaunch of services will depend on the commercial decisions of designated carriers in both countries and the fulfilment of all operational requirements. This move marks a significant step in rebuilding travel and cultural exchanges that were disrupted in recent years.
