As Nived takes his first independent steps again, his story stands as a testament to how one act of kindness can heal not just a child, but an entire community’s faith in humanity
Humanitarian billionaire M.A. Yusuff Ali, chairman of the Lulu Group, has once again proved that wealth can be a force for good. His compassion has helped six-year-old Nived from Kollam, Kerala — bedridden for three years due to a rare neurological condition — regain mobility and hope.
After a high fever left Nived immobile at age three, his parents, Vinod and Manu, struggled to afford treatment. Their fate changed when Yusuff Ali met them during a visit to Kerala in December 2024. He immediately funded the child’s treatment with Rs 2.5 lakh, later contributing an additional Rs 5 lakh through his foundation.
- Nived underwent specialized nerve therapy at the Sanvivo Ayurvedic and Wellness Clinic in Thrissur, where his recovery has amazed doctors
- His mother calls it a “new beginning,” crediting Yusuff Ali’s timely intervention for restoring joy to their family
On Instagram, Yusuff Ali shared Nived’s journey, touching hearts across India and the Gulf. The post drew thousands of emotional comments praising his humility and humanity.
This is not the first time the Lulu Group chief has come to the aid of those in distress. His philanthropy during the pandemic, his assistance to indebted families, and his personal gestures — like carrying a deceased employee’s coffin — have cemented his reputation as a leader who leads with empathy.
