Qatar Museums, Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre forge partnership

Together, Qatar Museums and NMACC aim to create sustainable, culturally rich learning experiences that inspire young minds and foster meaningful educational exchange between the two countries

Qatar Museums has entered into a five-year strategic education partnership with the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), marking a significant step toward strengthening museum-led learning initiatives in both Qatar and India. The agreement aims to broaden access to creative, interactive education for children while equipping educators with innovative teaching tools rooted in culture and creativity.

The partnership was formally signed at the National Museum of Qatar in Doha by Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, and Isha Ambani of Reliance Industries. The collaboration reflects a shared vision of using culture as a foundation for education and cross-cultural understanding.

  • At the core of the agreement is the development of Museum-in-Residence education programmes

  • These initiatives are designed to bring museum-based learning directly into classrooms and community spaces, offering hands-on, experiential activities that encourage curiosity, imagination and problem-solving among young learners

  • The programmes will place a strong emphasis on early childhood education, while also supporting teachers, facilitators and volunteers through training, mentoring and access to new educational materials

In India, the programmes will be implemented by NMACC in collaboration with the Reliance Foundation and rolled out across multiple regions. Special attention will be given to reaching diverse learning environments, including schools, anganwadis and community centres, with a focus on rural and underserved communities. Each programme will be tailored to local needs while maintaining global best practices in museum education.

Experts from Qatar Museums, including specialists from Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, will play a key role in delivering masterclasses and hands-on mentoring. One of the flagship initiatives under the partnership is the extension of Dadu’s Museum-in-Residence model through its Light Atelier programme, which is designed for children aged three to seven and promotes learning through play and immersive experiences.

Both organisations have highlighted creativity, empathy and discovery as guiding principles of the collaboration. The partnership also supports Qatar Museums’ broader mission under Qatar National Vision 2030, which prioritises human, social and cultural development. For NMACC, the agreement aligns with its goal of introducing international educational models to India while sharing Indian cultural perspectives on a global platform.
