The Republic Day celebrations at the Embassy of India in Muscat served as a reminder of India’s rich democratic traditions and the strong bonds shared with Oman, while fostering unity and pride among Indians living abroad
The Embassy of India in Muscat celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great pride, enthusiasm and a strong sense of patriotism. The event brought together a large number of members from the Indian community, along with friends of India in Oman, reflecting the close people-to-people ties between the two nations.
The celebrations began with Chargé d’affaires Mrs Tavishi Behal Pandey paying floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. The gesture honoured the timeless values of peace, truth and non-violence that continue to inspire India and the world.
Following this, the National Flag was unfurled by the Chargé d’affaires in a solemn ceremony. Students of Indian School Muscat sang the National Anthem, filling the venue with pride and emotion. Mrs Pandey then read excerpts from the Hon’ble President of India’s Republic Day address. The message highlighted India’s steady progress, its commitment to democratic values, and the nation’s vision for an inclusive and prosperous future.
