With this partnership, both sides hope to strengthen tourism ties between India and Mauritius and attract more Indian travellers seeking beach holidays, luxury resorts, cultural experiences, and corporate events in the island nation
Thomas Cook (India) Ltd and its group company SOTC Travel have entered into a new partnership with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) to strengthen Mauritius’ appeal among Indian travellers. The collaboration is expected to increase awareness of the island nation and encourage more Indians to choose Mauritius for holidays, business trips, and events.
The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which sets out a joint plan to promote Mauritius across India. The focus will be on educating travel agents and customers, developing new travel products, and running marketing and communication campaigns. These efforts aim to position Mauritius as a preferred destination not only in major Indian cities but also in smaller towns and emerging markets.

By using Thomas Cook’s wide network and digital platforms, the partnership plans to showcase Mauritius as a versatile destination for leisure, meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions (MICE), and business travel.
Benoit Harter, Director at MTPA, welcomed the collaboration and said the multi-pronged approach will help tap opportunities in both leisure and MICE segments. He added that working closely with Thomas Cook and SOTC will help Mauritius reach a wider Indian audience and highlight the island’s evolving tourism offerings.
