Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met members of the Indian diaspora in Singapore during his two-day visit, highlighting the strong cultural ties between India and its overseas communities. The event followed a series of meetings with business leaders and senior Singaporean officials, including Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, where discussions focused on investment, infrastructure and cooperation.
Addressing the gathering, Adityanath praised the Indian community in Singapore for preserving India’s cultural and spiritual traditions despite living far from home.
The CM said the diaspora continued to promote Indian values with dedication, even as many people across the world adopted Western lifestyles
Cultural performances, including a Ganpati Vandana by students from the Global Indian International School, marked the programme and reflected the enduring bond between Uttar Pradesh and Indians abroad.
The Chief Minister also spoke about Uttar Pradesh’s development journey, describing the state as a blend of heritage and modern progress. He highlighted major projects such as the Ayodhya redevelopment, the Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor, and expanding industrial and infrastructure initiatives. He noted that the state attracted nearly 156 crore tourists last year and urged overseas Indians to promote tourism and support the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.
Adityanath expressed hope that the upcoming Jewar International Airport would eventually enable direct flights between Singapore and Uttar Pradesh, strengthening business and people-to-people links. He encouraged diaspora members to stay connected with their roots while contributing positively to their host country.
