Air India Express will restart flight services to and from Muscat from March 3, offering relief to passengers affected by the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The airline will operate scheduled flights between Muscat and Indian cities including Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Mumbai and Tiruchirappalli.

The first flight from Muscat is set to depart for Tiruchirappalli at 10:25am local time. The airline has advised passengers to check the latest flight status on its official website and ensure their contact details are updated to receive real-time alerts.

Meanwhile, IndiGo will operate 10 special relief flights from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to various Indian cities on March 3. These services aim to bring back travellers stranded due to disruptions caused by the regional conflict. The Ministry of Civil Aviation said it is closely monitoring the airspace situation across parts of the Middle East and assessing its impact on flight operations. IndiGo is coordinating with the Consulate General of India in Jeddah to assist passengers.

However, not all services have resumed. Air India Express confirmed that flights on several other Gulf routes — including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE — will remain suspended until 11:59pm IST on March 3, 2026.

At the diplomatic level, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held separate phone conversations with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. In a statement shared on X, Mr Modi condemned the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and thanked the leaders for ensuring the safety of the Indian community. He also stressed the need for the earliest restoration of peace in the region.
