Goa Minister Says Gen Z Voices Must Guide Government Policies

  • Emphasising inclusive development, Vishwajit Rane said the government wants youth, women and senior citizens to take part in the state’s growth journey

  • He added that development should bring real benefits to every village, including better livelihoods and more job opportunities

Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has said that the opinions and expectations of Gen Z must play an important role in shaping government policies. Speaking at a public event in Usgao village in North Goa on Wednesday, Rane said young people cannot be ignored and their concerns should be reflected in decision-making.

He said governments must listen carefully to the younger generation and create policies that match their aspirations. According to Rane, the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always focused on the country’s overall development with a long-term vision.

  • During his speech, Rane urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to speed up the recruitment process for vacant government posts

  • He stressed that creating employment opportunities, especially for young people, should be a top priority for the state government

The minister suggested filling around 22,000 vacant government jobs before the next Goa Assembly elections, which are due next year. He said this would provide much-needed employment and support the aspirations of the youth in the state.

Rane also highlighted developments in Goa’s healthcare sector. He said several health initiatives launched under the Prime Minister’s leadership are benefiting people across the state. These include breast cancer screening programmes, efforts to improve early detection of cervical cancer, and the distribution of free medicines worth Rs 450 crore annually through government health facilities.
