Community organisations urge overseas voters and their families to finish documentation before the August 3 cut-off

Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from Telangana and their families have been urged to complete all formalities under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls before the August 3 deadline to avoid disruptions to their voter registration. The appeal comes amid growing concern that many eligible overseas voters may miss the deadline due to procedural delays and lack of awareness.
Community leaders and NRI associations have called on overseas Telugus to coordinate with their family members in India to ensure that the required enumeration forms and supporting documents are submitted on time. They said timely completion of the process is essential for maintaining accurate electoral rolls ahead of future elections.

Several NRIs have reported difficulties in completing the process remotely, citing issues such as online access, mobile number linkage with Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs), and uncertainty over documentation requirements. Some overseas voters have travelled to Telangana to complete the formalities in person after encountering challenges with online submissions.
Community representatives have advised eligible voters not to wait until the final days of the revision exercise and to seek assistance from Booth Level Officers or local election officials if they face any difficulties. They stressed that proactive verification would help prevent eligible voters from being left out of the revised electoral rolls.
