Indian travellers planning a visit to Dubai can now use India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to book tickets online for At the Top, Burj Khalifa before departing for the UAE, in a move aimed at making travel planning simpler and more convenient.

The new payment option has been introduced through a partnership between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), UAE-based digital payments provider NEOPAY, and Emaar Entertainment, which operates the Burj Khalifa observation decks. The initiative makes At the Top the first tourist attraction in the UAE to accept UPI for online ticket bookings.

Until now, Indian visitors could use UPI mainly for in-store payments at participating merchants across the UAE. The latest expansion allows travellers to complete bookings on the attraction’s official website using their preferred UPI-enabled application while still in India, eliminating the need for international cards or alternative payment methods before travel.

  • The attraction offers multiple ticket categories. Standard access to Levels 124 and 125 starts at 149 UAE dirhams, while premium experiences covering Levels 152, 153 and 154 are priced at 769 dirhams, or about ₹20,000

  • The online UPI option is available across these experiences, enabling visitors to secure their preferred time slots in advance.

Officials said the initiative reflects growing cooperation between India and the UAE in digital payments and tourism. NIPL noted that expanding UPI acceptance internationally remains a priority, while NEOPAY said the development represents the first UPI-enabled e-commerce payment solution in the Gulf Cooperation Council region. Emaar Entertainment added that the facility is expected to improve the booking experience for Indian visitors, who constitute one of the landmark’s largest international tourist groups.
