The four-day visit to Abu Dhabi and Dubai will focus on investment, technology partnerships and industrial projects in Odisha
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has arrived in Abu Dhabi at the head of a high-level delegation for a four-day visit aimed at attracting investment and strengthening economic ties with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The visit, which runs until September 12, is Majhi’s second international investment outreach. A series of meetings with investors, financial institutions, government officials and business leaders is scheduled from September 9 to 11.
After arriving in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, Majhi reviewed arrangements for the meetings and held discussions with India’s ambassador to the UAE on strengthening economic and people-to-people links. He also stressed the need to support Odias living and working in the region.

The first phase of the outreach includes meetings with International Holding Company (IHC), the Indian Business and Professional Group, the UAE Minister of Investment and other investment stakeholders

Discussions with investors from the petrochemicals and chemicals sectors are also planned
The Odisha government plans to highlight the state’s ports, natural resources, industrial infrastructure, competitive power supply, skilled workforce and access to domestic and international markets. Officials will seek to turn investor interest into specific projects involving investment, technology transfer, trade and industrial cooperation.
Majhi has said the state wants to move beyond investment announcements and focus on projects that create jobs and generate value. The government is also seeking to deepen Odisha’s economic engagement with the UAE and the wider Middle East and North Africa region.
The chief minister is expected to travel to Dubai for further meetings with industry leaders and prospective investors, along with an Odisha Investors’ Meet and an interaction with the Odia diaspora.
