New Delhi centre inaugurated as South Korea extends its visa application network to six centres across India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka
South Korea has expanded its visa application services across South Asia, with VFS Global now operating six Korea Visa Application Centres in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The move is aimed at improving access to visa application services for travellers and other applicants seeking to visit the Republic of Korea.
In India, the centres are located in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. The regional network also includes centres in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Colombo, Sri Lanka, according to VFS Global.

The new centre in New Delhi was inaugurated on September 15 by Lee Seong-ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India

The development comes as demand for Korean visas grows among travellers across the region
Lee said the initiative was an important step in strengthening relations between India and South Korea. The centre is intended to provide applicants with a more accessible and efficient visa application experience.
VFS Global has been the South Korean government’s visa-processing partner in India since 2011. Its responsibilities include receiving visa application forms, collecting supporting documents in line with the prescribed checklist and enrolling applicants’ biometric information.
The company does not decide whether a visa application is approved or refused. Those decisions remain solely with the relevant South Korean embassy or consulate.
The expansion brings the number of Korea Visa Application Centres operated by VFS Global to nine across six countries worldwide, the company said.
For Indian applicants, the centres provide a designated location for submitting documents and completing the administrative stages of the visa process. Applicants should check the relevant centre’s official instructions for appointment requirements, documents and applicable fees before submitting an application.
The expansion is part of VFS Global’s wider visa and passport services operations, which mark 25 years of service this year.
