Officials emphasised that the embassy remains available round the clock to assist Indian citizens during the crisis
Indian nationals living in Qatar have been advised to remain indoors and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities as regional tensions continue to affect daily life and travel in the country. The advisory was issued by the Indian Embassy in Doha amid ongoing security concerns and the continued closure of Qatar’s airspace.
According to the embassy, residents should stay in safe locations and avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary. They have also been advised to keep away from windows and other exposed areas, following guidance issued by the Qatar Ministry of Interior.
Officials say the situation remains fluid and residents should stay alert for official announcements from Qatari authorities. The embassy has also promised to share updates through its social media platforms to ensure that the Indian community remains informed.

At the same time, Qatari authorities have introduced temporary measures to assist travellers whose visas are about to expire. All entry visas that have already expired or are close to expiring have been automatically extended for one month starting from February 28. Officials say the extension could be lengthened further depending on how the situation develops.
For those needing to leave the country urgently, authorities have said the Salwa border crossing between Qatar and Saudi Arabia remains open. However, travellers must ensure they meet Saudi entry requirements.
Indian nationals holding valid visas from the United States, United Kingdom or Schengen countries may qualify for visa-on-arrival entry into Saudi Arabia, provided those visas have been used previously. Others must apply for a Saudi visa through the usual process.
The embassy has also launched a special registration facility to help stranded travellers obtain temporary transit visas for Saudi Arabia. Applicants must show proof of their travel tickets into Qatar and confirmed onward flights from Saudi Arabia.
