Air India Express (AIE) is set to increase the frequency of its flights from Mangaluru to Abu Dhabi, transitioning to a daily service starting July 22. Currently, AIE operates four flights per week to Abu Dhabi, with departures on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
This enhancement will also see an increase in the number of daily flights to Bengaluru, reaching a total of eight flights, as both AIE and IndiGo ramp up their operations.
Presently, the Bengaluru-Mangaluru sector sees five daily flights, with IndiGo operating four and AIE one. From July 8, the number of daily flights will rise to six with AIE reintroducing its second daily flight. This number will further increase to seven flights on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from July 22, with AIE operating an additional flight that continues onward to Abu Dhabi from Mangaluru. The segment between Bengaluru and Mangaluru will function as a domestic flight, with passengers heading to Abu Dhabi boarding at Mangaluru.

By August 1, the number of flights on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru route will reach eight on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. AIE will operate three flights on these days, complementing IndiGo’s five daily flights, including an additional fifth flight announced in the summer schedule starting March 31. To accommodate high passenger demand on this route, AIE deploys Boeing-737 Max aircraft while IndiGo uses Airbus series aircraft.
