Al Mouj Muscat Marathon set to take place on 11 and 12 February 2022

Oman Sail took over management of the annual Al Mouj Muscat Marathon in 2017 from Muscat Road Runners, and successfully registered in excess of 10,000 runners from over 100 countries last year.

Al Mouj Muscat Marathon, the biggest running event in the Sultanate, is all set to take place in 2022, bringing to the fore the importance of leading an active and healthy lifestyle.

While the 2021 event could not be held due to the pandemic, the latest edition comes at a time when people are reassessing their lifestyle choices while opting for a healthier approach. The Al Mouj Muscat Marathon will be held over the weekend of February 11 and 12, 2022 at Oman’s leading lifestyle and leisure destination.

Oman Sail has passed the baton to Sabco Sports, the Sultanate’s leading sports agency to take the renowned sporting event to the next level and continue its positive trajectory of growth

The details of the new edition have been unveiled at a press conference attended by representatives from Al Mouj Muscat, Oman Sail and Sabco Sports.

The vibrant and ever-growing lifestyle destination, Al Mouj Muscat, pledged its support for the sixth time as title sponsor, based on a commitment to further contributing to tourism and sport tourism in the Sultanate, providing an avenue for SMEs to stimulate their income and showcase their products and services to a wider audience, as well as complementing the promise of vibrant lifestyle to residents.

Over the years, the event has seen a steady increase in the number of participants making Muscat Marathon one of the most anticipated events of Muscat’s sporting calendar.

Al Mouj Muscat Marathon will continue to be the torchbearer of health and fitness, encouraging more people to get into an active lifestyle while directly aligned with Vision 2040, which aims to set up a culture of sustainable healthy society where health is everyone’s responsibility.
