Amit Narang appointed as India’s Ambassador to Slovenia

Amit Narang, a seasoned Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer from the 2001 batch, has been appointed as the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Slovenia.

Currently serving as India’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, his new assignment reflects India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its bilateral ties with European nations.

This appointment also underscores India’s commitment to strengthening ties with Slovenia, a nation that holds strategic importance in Central Europe and the European Union

Narang’s tenure in Oman has been marked by remarkable strides in fostering economic, cultural, and strategic cooperation between the two nations. His vast diplomatic experience and expertise are expected to bolster India’s engagement with Slovenia, a key European partner with growing trade and cultural exchanges.

The Ministry of External Affairs has announced that Narang is expected to assume his new role shortly. This transition signifies India’s continued emphasis on leveraging experienced diplomats to enhance international relations in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
