Bangladeshi President Mohammed Shahabuddin urged citizens to come together, regardless of their faith, to build a prosperous and inclusive Bangladesh. His call for unity came during a speech at Bangabhaban, marking the conclusion of the Durga Puja festival, with the immersion of Goddess Durga’s idols in water bodies across the country.

Addressing the audience, President Shahabuddin emphasized the need for solidarity, stating, “We are all Bangladeshis, connected with each other.

The president commended the collective participation of people from all walks of life, which has made the festival a unifying event across the nation

There is no place for majority or minority distinctions in our country.” He stressed that fostering tolerance, trust, and cooperation is key to transforming Bangladesh into a developed, progressive nation.

The president also highlighted the significance of Durga Puja, noting that it transcends religious boundaries and has become a social celebration deeply intertwined with Bengali culture.
