The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Member of Parliament Kunwar Danish Ali was in Saudi Arabia on November 13 to drum up support for his party led by Mayawati for the the 2024 general election, which he said could result in the formation of a United Front government at Delhi, reported newindian.in.
The BSP MP from Amroha was addressing a gathering of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh. He was in Saudi Arabia for an event hosted by the India Islamic Cultural Center’s overseas chapter.
The BSP has only one representative in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly: Umashankar Singh, who represents Rasara in the Ballia district. It has 10 MPs in Lok Sabha, including party chief Mayawati. While the party is struggling to stay afloat, Ali put up a brave front in Saudi Arabia.
“You just focus on your work and should not be worried about the current political situation. Let us trust the wisdom of the electorate, and soon change will certainly happen. We will together make a better society to live in with the honour and dignity we deserve.”
— Kunwar Danish Ali, BSP Member of Parliament
Elaborating his claim of the UF government coming to power in Delhi, Ali said, “The winds are starting to change. BJP allies are rapidly quitting the NDA. This is expected to accelerate in the coming days as the BJP allies are not ready to trust them anymore.” Ali also added that while the BJP had won almost all the seats in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka in previous elections, the situation was changing.
Ali forecast that the BJP was going to suffer a huge setback in all these states as well as in West Bengal and Assam. “If a united front of non-BJP parties is formed, then I do not see any obstacle to forming a non-BJP government at the Centre,” Danish said.
Meanwhile, wooing the Indian diaspora, Ali called them the ambassadors of India and Saudi Arabia. “You people here are working very hard and contributing a lot to the Indian economy. Your contribution is playing a vital role in strengthening the rupee as you send $5 billion every year.” He also said, “You just focus on your work and should not be worried about the current political situation. Let us trust the wisdom of the electorate, and soon change will certainly happen. We will together make a better society to live in with the honour and dignity we deserve.”
