The Canadian government will remove extra points for job offers in the Express Entry system starting Spring 2025, aiming to reduce fraud.
The Canadian government has revealed it will eliminate additional points for job offers in the Express Entry system, a move that aims to combat fraud and reduce the incentive for candidates to illegally purchase or sell Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIA) to improve their chances of permanent residency, reported by gujaratsamachar.com
The change will take effect in Spring 2025, impacting candidates applying through Express Entry, including those temporarily working in Canada.
Marc Miller, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC), stated that the removal of these points is part of ongoing efforts to prevent fraud in the immigration process. The change will affect candidates pursuing permanent residency through Express Entry, including those already working temporarily in Canada. Importantly, this adjustment will not impact individuals who have already received an invitation to apply or have an active application in progress.
Once implemented, the rule will apply to all candidates with job offers in the Express Entry pool, as well as new applicants entering the system.
