India reiterates commitment to border security and collaboration with Bangladesh
The Bangladesh Acting High Commissioner to India, Md. Nural Islam, was summoned to the South Block by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Monday to discuss measures for enhancing border security between the two nations.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that India adheres to all protocols and agreements with Bangladesh, including those established between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). Security measures at the border, such as fencing, border lighting, installation of technical devices, and cattle fences, are being implemented to address challenges like cross-border criminal activities, smuggling, trafficking, and unauthorized movement.

India reiterated its commitment to maintaining a secure and crime-free border and conveyed its expectation that Bangladesh would uphold earlier understandings. Both nations were urged to adopt a cooperative approach to effectively combat cross-border crimes and enhance mutual security.
