Over 15,000 Indian citizens benefit from visa regularization support during the four-month Amnesty Facilitation operations
The Consulate General of India in Dubai has successfully supported over 15,000 Indian citizens seeking to regularize their visa status in the UAE, reported theindianawaaz.com.
Successful completion of Amnesty Facilitation operations
On January 1, 2025, the Consulate announced the completion of its Amnesty Facilitation program, which began on September 1, 2024. Over the course of the four-month initiative, the Consulate issued 2,117 passports, 3,589 emergency certificates, and facilitated more than 3,700 exit permits.
The program, conducted in collaboration with Indian diaspora organizations, also provided fee and penalty waivers from UAE authorities.
-
The emergency certificates, also known as outpasses, were issued to individuals without valid passports as one-time travel documents
-
Short-validity passports were issued to those wishing to continue their legal stay in the UAE
-
The services extended by the Consulate also included lost passport reporting, labor cancellations, and assistance with immigration-related matters, with significant support from community organizations
As the program concluded, the Consulate expressed its gratitude to the UAE government for its cooperation and urged Indian citizens to comply with local regulations related to entry, work, and residency. The Consulate reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Indian community in the UAE.
