Rabat, Morocco: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh engaged with the vibrant Indian diaspora in Rabat on 21 September 2025. The community praised the decisive action of the armed forces during Operation Sindoor. Singh reaffirmed that the armed forces were fully prepared and given complete freedom to respond following the cowardly attack on innocent Indians in Pahalgam, emphasizing India’s measured and non-escalatory approach: “Humne dharm dekh kar nahi, karm dekh kar maara hai,” quoting the Ramcharitmanas, reported forceindia.net.

Singh underscores India’s growth in economy, defence, and digital sectors while commending the diaspora’s contributions

During the interaction, Singh highlighted India’s multidimensional progress over the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that India has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy, rising from the 11th to the 4th largest globally and is poised to enter the top three. He detailed India’s digital transformation, the growth of its knowledge economy, and the surge in startups from 18 unicorns a decade ago to 118 today. Additionally, he pointed out the expansion of India’s defence industry, with production worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore and defence exports exceeding Rs 23,000 crore to over 100 countries.

The Raksha Mantri lauded the honesty, dedication, and hard work of the Indian diaspora, reflecting the strength of Indian character worldwide. He invoked Swami Vivekananda’s words at the Parliament of World’s Religions, noting that in Indian culture, character defines a person. Members of the diaspora expressed pride in India’s rising global stature, underpinned by strong economic and military foundations.
