Designer Manish Malhotra’s ‘Nooraniyat’ Bridal collection makes waves

A three-day  trunk show by renowned Indian designer Manish Malhotra – ‘Nooraniyat, The Bridal Edit’ his latest collection of bridal couture – was the centre of attraction  in this year’s Shop Qatar at Mondrian Doha, a report in The Peninsula, Doha, says

This is Malhotra’s first exclusive trunk show in Qatar and attracted many fashion enthusiasts.

Featuring weaves of fine craftsmanship and exquisite intricate elements, ‘Nooraniyat collection 2021’ is an enchanting medley of bridal glory, where each ensemble has a special story to tell 

Malhotra says “Nooraniyat is a collection which is very special….For me this year has all been about Nooraniyat and kind of close to my heart, the reactions have been phenomenal in aspects of sale, love and acceptance. I’m happy to bring Nooraniyat to Qatar,” he added.

For this collection Malhotra has been working with the Mijwan Welfare Society, an NGO, that extends support, especially in the revival and promotion of the traditional craft of Chikankari.

The collection was first unveiled in a 4-minute film featuring Bollywood star Sara Ali Khan, who played Malhotra’s muse.

After several visits during the course of the past seven years, Malhotra said, “It just evolves each time I come here. Qatar to me is a hub in the Middle East for culture, art and creative innovation. Each time I come here the infrastructure keeps changing and evolving. People have great taste for clothes and they understand clothes.

“And for me it’s a very warm place, the warmth of people, the acceptance, the appreciation for different art and culture”, he adds.
