The DiasporaNEXT Social Entrepreneurs List comprises young entrepreneurs who run for-profit businesses with social causes, was launched through two separate sessions on December 6 and 7, each featuring a panel of founders honoured on the list.
The list aims to celebrate young entrepreneurs whose companies are addressing issues such as access to healthcare, quality education, water and sanitation, arts and culture, food insecurity, and employability, according to a press release.
Indiaspora’s Executive Director, Sanjeev Joshipura, speaking about the list, said: “The honorees on this list are a true inspiration. Their work today is paving the road for the future generation of social entrepreneurs,” said. “These leaders are playing an active role in providing sustainable solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.”
“Some of the greatest challenges we face are driven by lack of access and lack of opportunity,” said Alwar Pillai, Co-founder and CEO of Fable. “I started Fable with Abid (Virani) to change that, and ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, can participate in, contribute to, and help shape society. Indiaspora’s support of Social Entrepreneurs and solutions like Fable demonstrates their commitment to solving the most impactful problems and a shared vision of an equitable digital future.“
DiasporaNEXT’s Social Entrepreneurs List includes Indian-origin entrepreneurs from India and from geographies with significant diaspora migration, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia.
