Dr J. Retnakumar has been re-elected as the Global Chairman of the World Malayalee Federation (WMF) for the 2026-2027 term. This marks his second consecutive stint leading the organisation, which is recognised as the largest network for the Kerala diaspora, spanning 167 countries.

The announcement was made during the WMF’s fifth global conference held in Dubai. Dr Retnakumar, who is based in Oman, officially took his oath of office from the federation’s founder, Dr Prince Pallikunnel.

The decision to reappoint Dr Retnakumar follows two years of significant growth for the federation. Under his previous leadership, the WMF expanded its reach and launched several welfare schemes designed to support Keralites living abroad.

Beyond his role at the WMF, Dr Retnakumar is a prominent figure in Oman’s insurance and cultural sectors. He is the founder of the Bhavalaya Art and Cultural Foundation and holds leadership roles in both the Indian Science Forum and the Malayalam Mission in Oman.
