A disturbing video from the UK has gone viral, capturing a drunk man racially abusing an Indian-origin woman and other passengers on a train traveling from London to Manchester, media reports said. The incident has reignited concerns about racism and xenophobia in public spaces.

The victim, Gabrielle Forsyth, who identifies as the daughter of an Indian immigrant, was engaged in a conversation with another passenger about her work for a charity supporting immigrants when the man, holding a beer can, launched into a racist tirade.

“You are in cahoots with the current immigrant. That’s what I believe,” he accused, before asserting, “You are in England. You wouldn’t be in England without claiming. If you weren’t claiming, you’d be back wherever you came from.”

The drunk man continued with offensive remarks, saying, “English people conquered the world and gave it back to you. We conquered India, we didn’t want it, we gave it back to you. Did we not? Tell me.” He further claimed, “India belonged to England, and we gave it back. We didn’t want it. A lot of countries like that.”

Forsyth initially posted the video of the incident but later deleted it due to a surge of online abuse. However, the video resurfaced on Instagram, with reports stating that she received extreme racial slurs following its initial posting on X (formerly Twitter). Disturbingly, some comments praised the man, calling him a “legend,” “patriot,” and even a “hero.”

According to Metro, Forsyth has reported the incident to the British Transport Police, highlighting the urgent need for stronger action against racial abuse in public spaces. The video has sparked widespread condemnation and discussions about tackling racism in the UK.
