In a move set to deepen ties between India and Dubai, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has introduced a game-changing five-year multiple-entry visa. Designed to facilitate ease of travel, foster economic collaborations, and promote tourism, this visa initiative marks a significant milestone in bilateral relations.

Issued within a remarkably swift 2-5 working days upon receiving and accepting the service request, the visa allows holders to stay in Dubai for up to 90 days, extendable once for a similar period, with a maximum total stay of 180 days in one year.

The impact of this initiative is already evident in the tourism landscape. In 2023, Dubai witnessed a substantial influx of 2.46 million overnight visitors from India, marking a remarkable 25% increase from the pre-pandemic era. This surge firmly established India as the top source market for Dubai tourism, with a notable 34% year-on-year growth, underscoring the enduring appeal of Dubai among Indian travelers.

The introduction of the five-year multiple-entry visa not only signifies a milestone in Dubai’s tourism strategy but also heralds a new era of collaboration and partnership between India and Dubai, promising mutual prosperity and growth for years to come

According to Bader Ali Habib, Regional Head of Proximity Markets at Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, India holds a pivotal position in Dubai’s strategic vision, particularly in advancing the objectives of the D33 Agenda. The introduction of the five-year visa not only promises extended and enriching experiences for Indian tourists but also paves the way for enhanced economic collaboration between the two nations.

With this landmark initiative, tourists gain unprecedented flexibility, enabling seamless transitions for business engagements and leisure travel. This move aligns with Dubai’s commitment to positioning itself as a global hub for business, investment, and tourism.

Furthermore, the exceptional growth in tourist arrivals, with a staggering 19.4% increase to 17.15 million international overnight visitors in 2023, reflects Dubai’s unwavering allure on the global stage. Coupled with robust flight connectivity and ongoing initiatives catered to the Indian market, Dubai remains steadfast in its mission to captivate travelers with its diverse offerings, multicultural ambiance, and plethora of hotels and attractions.
