Dubai has officially introduced a 10-year Gaming Visa, targeting global professionals in the gaming industry. Launched in May 2024 under the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 (DPG 2033), the initiative aims to transform the emirate into a global gaming hub by drawing top-tier talent across game development, animation, esports, and content creation, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

The visa falls under the “Culture and Arts” residency category and offers long-term stability, tax-free income, and access to Dubai’s fast-growing gaming ecosystem. Applicants must be at least 25 years old and demonstrate a professional background in gaming through proof of experience, relevant documentation, and an accreditation certificate from Dubai Culture.

Dubai’s 10-year Gaming Visa empowers gaming professionals with long-term residency, tax-free benefits, and a role in shaping a $1 billion creative tech economy

The visa application process consists of two key steps. First, professionals must apply for the Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate at dubaigaming.gov.ae, providing documents like passport copy, resume, educational qualifications, and proof of gaming contributions. Upon approval from Dubai Culture, they can proceed to apply for the visa through UAE immigration.

This initiative is part of Dubai’s broader DPG 2033 agenda, which seeks to contribute AED 3.6 billion (~$1 billion) to the economy and create 30,000 jobs by the year 2033. Alongside the visa, the program supports local talent development, research in gaming technology, esports tournaments, and startup incubation.

The visa is strictly for individual professionals—not casual gamers, hobby streamers, or corporate applicants. Final visa issuance is subject to federal checks, and Dubai Culture retains the right to reject applications without providing reasons.
