Group faces 344 charges after Peel and Halton Police recover stolen mail including credit cards and cheques
Canadian authorities have arrested eight men of Indian-origin in connection with a major mail theft ring involving credit cards, cheques, and other personal items. The stolen mail is valued at more than $400,000 CAD (₹2.53 crore), and the accused now face over 300 criminal charges. Some may also be subject to deportation, reported gujaratsamachar.com.

Peel Regional Police, working with Halton Regional Police and Canada Post, launched an investigation in April 2025 following a spate of residential mailbox thefts across the Region of Peel.
The probe revealed a coordinated effort by the group to steal mail, causing significant disruption to community members
As part of enforcement efforts, search warrants were executed on September 8 and 9 at multiple residences in Mississauga, including Rhinebank Street, Brandon Gate Drive, Dwiggin Avenue, and Kittridge Drive. Hundreds of items were recovered, including credit cards, gift cards, government IDs, and over 250 cheques.

The following individuals have been charged with 344 counts related to property crimes:

- Jashandeep Jattana
- Harman Singh
- Jasanpreet Singh
- Manroop Sing
- Rajbir Singh
- Upinderjit Singh
Peel Regional Police are working closely with the Peel Crown Attorney’s Office and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to determine whether the accused foreign nationals may be removed from Canada as part of the ongoing judicial process.
