-
Mandvi to Muscat serves as a tribute to the shared history and people-to-people ties that continue to shape India-Oman relations
The book is the culmination of an eight-month-long lecture series organized by the Embassy of India between October 2023 and May 2024. This initiative, inaugurated by V. Muraleedharan, then Minister of State for External Affairs of India, aimed to rekindle awareness of the vital role played by the Indian diaspora in strengthening bilateral relations.
Featuring insights from scholars, historians, and anthropologists from India, Oman, the United States, and the UAE, the book blends academic analysis with personal narratives from historical Indian families residing in Oman. This combination offers a rich tapestry of perspectives, providing a unique understanding of the Indian community’s impact on Oman’s cultural and economic landscape.
