Enhanced travel experience and expanded summer capacity mark early debut of next-gen aircraft on high-demand Gulf sector
In a proactive move to meet rising summer travel demand, Emirates has launched daily Airbus A350 flights between Dubai and Muscat, ahead of the originally planned July 1 start date. The route is now serviced by the airline’s latest A350 aircraft, offering passengers a premium, efficient, and connected flying experience between the UAE and Oman, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
EMIRATES BRINGS A350 TO MUSCAT ONE WEEK EARLY TO BOOST REGIONAL CONNECTIVITY
The new A350-operated service began ahead of schedule, with the daily flight pairing designed to optimize onward connectivity for global travellers transiting through Dubai.
Flight EK 866 departs Dubai at 2:15am, landing in Muscat at 3:30am.
Flight EK 867 departs Muscat at 4:40am, returning to Dubai by 5:55am.
These overnight schedules provide seamless links to Emirates’ vast global network, including major destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas

The Airbus A350 features a modern three-class configuration with 312 seats, including:
- 32 Business Class lie-flat seats (1-2-1 layout)
- 21 Premium Economy seats (2-3-2 layout)
- 259 Economy Class seats (3-3-3 layout)
Travellers benefit from spacious cabins, wider aisles, higher ceilings, next-gen in-flight entertainment, high-speed Wi-Fi, and advanced ergonomic seating — delivering a superior experience even on short-haul sectors.
MUSCAT AMONG FIRST DESTINATIONS TO RECEIVE A350 SERVICE IN REGION
With seven Airbus A350s in its current fleet, Emirates has deployed the aircraft to a select list of cities including Mumbai, Kuwait, Dammam, Edinburgh, and Colombo. Muscat’s early inclusion in this lineup reflects Emirates’ strong commitment to the Oman market and its strategic importance in the airline’s regional network.
By end-2025, Emirates plans to operate the A350 on 17 global routes, supporting its broader fleet modernization and network growth strategy.
ADDITIONAL FLIGHTS ADDED FOR SUMMER TRAVEL RUSH
To further accommodate increased travel volumes during summer, Emirates has also introduced two additional weekly flights on the Dubai–Muscat route:
- EK 862 departs Dubai at 7:55am, arrives Muscat at 9:05am
- EK 863 departs Muscat at 11:25am, lands in Dubai at 12:30pm
These Thursday and Saturday flights are tailored for weekend travellers, offering greater flexibility for holidaymakers and business flyers alike.
