Etihad upgrades Kolkata service with first-class suites, flat beds, and next-gen entertainment in all cabins
Etihad Airways has announced the deployment of its state-of-the-art Airbus A321LR on the Abu Dhabi–Kolkata route from September 26, 2025, offering enhanced comfort, luxury, and connectivity to Indian travellers, reported news18.com.
The next-gen A321LR aircraft will feature First Suites, Business Class lie-flat seats, and ultra-modern Economy cabins, redefining narrow-body travel between the Gulf and India.
A New Era of Flying Between Abu Dhabi and Kolkata
Starting September 26, 2025, Etihad Airways will operate its advanced Airbus A321LR on all flights between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The upgrade is aimed at delivering a world-class experience on this popular route connecting the UAE and eastern India.
The A321LR (Long Range), though a single-aisle aircraft, is packed with wide-body-style amenities, including luxury First Suites—rare for this category of aircraft.
Premium Comfort at Every Level
Etihad’s newly configured A321LR will offer:
- First Suites with forward-facing flat beds in an exclusive 1-1 layout
- Business Class with 14 lie-flat seats offering direct aisle access
- Economy Class fitted with ultra-modern 4K touchscreens and high-speed WiFi
The upgrade ensures elevated space, privacy, and personalized service across all cabins—transforming the regional travel experience.

New Flight Schedule
Etihad will operate four weekly flights in both directions:
From Abu Dhabi to Kolkata:
- EY 0220: 20:30 – 03:00+1 (Mon, Thu, Fri, Sun)
- EY 0222: 14:00 – 20:35 (Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun)
From Kolkata to Abu Dhabi:
- EY 0221: 04:00 – 07:25 (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat)
- EY 0223: 21:30 – 01:00+1 (Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun)
This move reflects Etihad’s commitment to the Indian market and aligns with its strategy to modernize its fleet while enhancing passenger satisfaction on medium-haul routes.
