In a series of fortunate events, several Indians residing in various cities across the UAE have experienced the thrill of winning substantial amounts in lotteries, with the most recent success story featuring a control room operator who clinched a staggering Rs 45 crore.

Participating enthusiastically in weekly draws and lotteries, a growing number of Indians, many from middle or lower-middle-class backgrounds, have witnessed life-changing victories in recent years.

The latest triumph unfolded for Sreeju, a 39-year-old control room operator in the oil and gas industry hailing from Kerala. Currently residing in Fujairah, approximately 120 km east of Dubai, Sreeju was rendered “speechless, shocked, and surprised” upon learning about his Dh 20,000,000 (about Rs 45 crore) win in the Mahzooz Saturday Millions, announced during the 154th draw on November 15.

Recalling the moment of revelation, Sreeju, a father of twin six-year-olds, shared, “I was in my car about to drive around when I checked my Mahzooz account, and I couldn’t believe my eyes.” Expressing his plans for the windfall, he intends to purchase a home in India without any financial burdens.

As Indians continue to be avid participants in these lotteries, their remarkable successes underscore the transformative potential of these games, offering a chance for individuals from diverse backgrounds to fulfill their dreams

The success streak continued with Sarath Sivadasan, a 36-year-old procurement professional from Kerala residing in Dubai. Winning Dh50,000 (approximately Rs 11 lakh) in the Emirates Draw FAST5 on November 11, Sarath, still processing his unexpected victory, remains committed to playing with Emirates Draw.

In another win, electronics technician Manoj Bhavsar from Mumbai emerged victorious in the Emirates Draw’s FAST5 game on November 9. The 42-year-old, residing in Abu Dhabi for the past 16 years, secured Dh75,000 (about Rs 16 lakh), intending to settle a long-standing debt.

Further adding to the string of victories, Indian shipping manager Anil Gianchandani, a 60-year-old from Delhi working in Sharjah, won USD 1 million in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion on November 8. Gianchandani, the 219th Indian to claim this prize since 1999, expressed his joy at this unexpected windfall.

Highlighting the impact of these wins, Suzan Kazzi, Head of Communications and CSR of Mahzooz Saturday Millions, stated, “To date, our weekly draws have created 64 millionaires, and distributed close to half a billion dirhams to more than 1,107,000 winners, adding an incredibly positive spin to their stories of victory.”
