Indian-American and British-Indian talents among global voices shaping culture, community, and conversation in the digital age
TIME magazine has unveiled its inaugural TIME100 Creators List, celebrating 100 of the world’s most influential digital content creators. Among them are four Indian-origin voices from the US and UK: Dhar Mann, Michelle Khare, Jay Shetty, and Samir Chaudry. Indian YouTuber Prajakta Koli also features on the list as the only creator based in India, reported indiatoday.in.
Dhar Mann: Moral Storytelling as a Titan
Recognized in the Titans category, 41-year-old Indian-American Dhar Mann is best known for his cinematic YouTube shorts that promote empathy, resilience, and life lessons. With over 25 million subscribers, Mann’s platform tackles real-world issues like bullying and abandonment through scripted, values-driven stories.
A two-time Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards nominee, Mann holds degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of California.
Michelle Khare: Challenging Limits as a Leader
Indian-American Michelle Khare was named under the Leaders category.
Her hit YouTube series Challenge Accepted — followed by over 5 million subscribers — features Khare undergoing intense physical and mental challenges, including FBI training and Houdini-style escapes.
A digital arts graduate from Dartmouth College, Khare credits rejection from her dream job at Disney for pushing her toward YouTube, where she’s become a symbol of grit and reinvention.
Jay Shetty: Bridging Wisdom and Wellness
British-Indian Jay Shetty, also in the Leaders category, is a former monk turned global podcaster and author.
His chart-topping podcast On Purpose blends ancient wisdom with modern self-help, featuring conversations with icons like Oprah and Tom Holland. Shetty commands over 30 million followers across platforms and holds a management science degree from Cass Business School in London.
The TIME100 Creators List spans 15 countries and five categories, spotlighting creators driving global digital culture — with Indian-origin talent earning top recognition in the Titans and Leaders categories
Samir Chaudry: Behind the Creator Economy
Alongside collaborator Colin Rosenblum, Indian-American Samir Chaudry appears in the Leaders category for their insightful creator-focused channel Colin and Samir.
With nearly 1.6 million subscribers, the duo host interviews with leading digital personalities like MrBeast and Emma Chamberlain, unpacking the business and strategy behind creator success. Chaudry studied film and digital media at UC Santa Cruz and co-founded the “Publish Press” newsletter spotlighting creator trends.
India’s Prajakta Koli Also Recognized
Indian YouTuber and actor Prajakta Koli was the only India-based content creator featured, further highlighting the global footprint of Indian digital talent.
Together, these five creators represent the evolving power of Indian-origin voices across continents — redefining influence in the digital age.
