The 2021 Indiaspora Philanthropy Leaders List spotlights 100 Indian and diaspora leaders who have made a significant impact with their philanthropic contributions and engagement
As India is celebrating its 75th Independence Day on Sunday (August 15, 2021), some Indian businessmen made it to the list of 100 Indians who have extended philanthropic activities across the globe.
Top in the list are business tycoons Gautam Adani, Nita Ambani and Kumar Mangalam Birla.
The list was released by Indiaspora, a US-based diaspora body that works in fields of academia, arts, business, entertainment, healthcare, media, philanthropy, politics, government, science, technology and more. It keeps on working for India and the Indian diaspora.
Others in the list include Monte Ahuja, Ajay Banga and Manoj Bhargava from US; Sonam Ajmera, Bob Dhillon and Aditya Jha from Canada; Mohamed Amersi, Manoj Badale and Kujinder Bahia from the United Kingdom
“The 2021 Indiaspora Philanthropy Leaders List spotlights 100 Indian and diaspora leaders who have made a significant impact with their philanthropic contributions and engagement. The List recognises and celebrates the generosity of changemakers from across the world who serve as an inspiration for future philanthropists,” an Indiaspora press release said.
Industrialist Gautam Adani, Nita Ambani and Kumar Mangalam Birla from India; Monte Ahuja, Ajay Banga and Manoj Bhargava from US; Sonam Ajmera, Bob Dhillon and Aditya Jha from Canada; Mohamed Amersi, Manoj Badale and Kujinder Bahia from the United Kingdom are on top of the list.
“It is incredibly inspiring to see so many philanthropists from our community who have translated their success into social impact,” said MR Rangaswami, the founder of Indiaspora.
“These leaders serve as an example of the importance of generosity and remind us of the many issues that need our attention,” he said.
