Senior IFS officer to take charge of India’s diplomatic mission in Seoul
Gourangalal Das, a 1999-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea. Das is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Das, an experienced diplomat, will soon assume his new role in South Korea.
The Ministry of External Affairs announced his appointment on Saturday, confirming that he is expected to take up the assignment shortly. With over two decades of experience in foreign service, Das has handled several important assignments in India’s external relations. His appointment reflects India’s growing focus on strengthening ties with South Korea in trade, technology, culture, and strategic cooperation.
