Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India said that competition was at an all-time high among countries of the world to market and promote destinations to win back international tourists after the two-year-long lull in travel and tourism. He said that all tourism-centric countries had started aggressive promotions, reported ETTravelWorld.
Delivering the inaugural address at the three-day South Asia Travel & Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2022 at India Expo Centre in Greater Noida, the minister’s words came in the light of the criticism on the part of the travel trade and industry for the lack of proper marketing and promotional efforts on the part of India Tourism in the overseas markets.

He said that while international tourism was important for India, domestic tourism had kept the industry alive despite the global pandemic.
Regarding Ayush Visa, Minister Naik said that the government had started the process and the visa would be introduced as early as possible.
