Gurpatwant Singh Pannun threatens to disrupt Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar

This is not Pannun’s first threat targeting events in Bhubaneswar. Last year, he called for attacks on the DGP-IGP Conference at Lok Seva Bhawan, urging Khalistani supporters, Naxals, Maoists, and Kashmiris to disrupt the gathering

  • Additionally, he announced a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh for anyone who raised the Khalistani flag during the event, escalating security challenges

Khalistan leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has issued a direct threat to the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Divas-2025, scheduled from January 8 to 10 in Bhubaneswar. This marks Odisha’s first time hosting the event, which is now clouded by security concerns following Pannun’s warnin, reported sambadenglish.com.

Claims surface alleging misuse of cultural events to target pro-Khalistan supporters, raising tensions in the lead-up to the prestigious gathering

Pannun reportedly sent a video message via email to journalist Akshay Sahoo, cautioning against holding the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar.

In his statement, he claimed the event is a façade for advancing India’s agenda of espionage and targeted actions against pro-Khalistan Sikhs. This development has raised alarm among authorities, though further details are yet to be revealed
