Hate group’s anti-Indian, anti-Hindu protest in Texas city sparks outrage

Masked members of far-right outfit ‘Take Action Texas’ stage offensive demonstration in Irving targeting Indian immigrants and Hindu deities

A hate-fueled protest by a far-right group in Irving, Texas, has drawn widespread condemnation after members displayed offensive signs attacking Indian immigrants and Hindu religious symbols. The demonstration, reportedly organised by the extremist outfit ‘Take Action Texas’, took place on Thursday at multiple locations across the city, reported gujaratsamachar.com.

The group carried placards with slogans such as “Don’t India My Texas”, “Deport H-1B Scammers”, and “Reject Foreign Demons”, directly targeting Indian professionals and mocking Hindu beliefs

Witnesses said several protesters were masked as they waved signs referring to Hindu gods and Indian tech workers, while one banner read, “Jesus Christ is Lord.” On social media platform X, the group claimed responsibility, saying the protest was in response to “Diwali garbage” and so-called demographic shifts in Irving due to an influx of Indian professionals on H-1B visas.

The hateful display has sparked widespread outrage among the Indian-American community, advocacy organisations, and civil rights groups across the United States. Many described it as an alarming escalation of xenophobic and religiously motivated hate speech.

Community leaders and advocacy bodies have urged local authorities to investigate the incident and take measures to ensure the safety of minority groups in the area.

Civil rights groups condemned the demonstration as a blatant act of hate speech and religious intolerance, warning against rising anti-immigrant sentiment in parts of the U.S.
