The Himachal Wing of the Indian Social Club brought the vibrant traditions of Lohri festival to Oman on January 19, 2024. The festivities took place at a farmhouse, attracting enthusiastic participants. The event was not only a cultural spectacle but also an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the joyous occasion.

There were games, prizes, and traditional delicacies, which gave the participants a complete Lohri experience to the participants.

“The celebration is not just about rituals; it is a holistic experience filled with laughter, joy, and camaraderie. During the event various Lohri games engaging people of all ages, from children to adults were organised. The air was filled with excitement as participants competed in friendly competitions, and prizes were distributed by the Himachal Wing, adding an extra layer of merriment to the occasion,” said Sanjeev Sharma, Convener of the Himachal Wing.

To complement the festive spirit, a traditional Lohri feast awaited the participants. The Himachal Wing served the quintessential Lohri food, including the sumptuous ‘Khichadi’, prepared with desi ghee and accompanied by homemade curd. The aroma of the traditional delicacies filled the air, adding to the warmth of the occasion.
