Hoshiarpur-based Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Simran Sikand has received a threat call from Pakistan-based gangster Shehzad Bhatti, who allegedly warned of a grenade attack on his house. The development comes after Bhatti took responsibility for the recent grenade attack in Jalandhar, reported tribuneindia.com.

Direct Threats and Security Concerns

Bhatti reportedly contacted Sikand via audio and video calls, claiming that five individuals, including Sikand, were on his target list. During the call, Bhatti allegedly boasted that the attack on “Roger’s house” in Jalandhar was executed by his men and was part of a series of planned assaults.

Concerned for their safety, Sikand’s mother, Neeru Sikand, lodged a police complaint at the Model Town police station.

She stated that her son, who currently resides in Canada, was directly threatened by Bhatti, leaving the family fearing for their lives.

Police Response and Security Measures

  • In response, Model Town police station SHO Kiran Singh confirmed that heightened security measures have been put in place

  • A 112 response vehicle equipped with CCTV cameras has been deployed on one side of the house, while a PCR vehicle monitors the other

Authorities are investigating the matter further to ensure the safety of the Sikand family and to track any potential threats linked to Bhatti’s claims.
