The New Delhi-based Lal Bahadur Shastri Trust plans to set up a skill development centre in Hyderabad.
The institution would be run in partnership with Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education. It would provide training programmes in different fields to youth.
Mr Shastri was happy to note that the skill development centre would add to the state’s already existing progressive environment in the state
Trust chairman Anil Shastri and Telangana State Planning Board Vice Chairman B. Vinod Kumar Called on Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday to discuss particulars about the initiative, including land for the institution.
The Trust Chairman is the son of late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Mr Shastri was happy to note that the skill development centre would add to the state’s already existing progressive environment in the state.
He was referring to the slew of welfare and development schemes coming up in the state.

Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar appreciated the decision of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Trust to select Hyderabad as a host for this prestigious centre.
Hyderabad’s selection came after several rounds of discussion.
The Lal Bahadur Shastri Trust has been engaged in various socio-cultural activities for long.
