The Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC Dubai) is hosting a special cultural evening today at the India Club, Dubai, to commemorate Pravasi Bhartiya Divas and Vishwa Hindi Divas, bringing together members of the Indian diaspora, business leaders, professionals, and cultural enthusiasts from across the UAE.

Organised in association with the Consulate General of India in Dubai, the event uniquely integrates the spirit of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas with the global celebration of Vishwa Hindi Divas. The programme aims to highlight the enduring relevance of the Hindi language worldwide while also celebrating India’s diverse linguistic and cultural heritage. By combining both observances into a single platform, IBPC Dubai seeks to reinforce the shared identity and cultural roots of overseas Indians.

The evening holds particular significance for IBPC Dubai, which counts among its members the highest number of Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Award recipients. Distinguished awardees, including Vasu Shroff, Ramesh Ramakrishnan, Surender Singh Kandhari, and IBPC Dubai

Chairman Siddharth Balachandran, are expected to be present, offering participants an opportunity to engage directly with eminent figures who have contributed significantly to strengthening India’s global presence

The cultural programme has been curated to reflect the richness of Indian expression. It will feature poetry recitations in Hindi as well as select Indian regional dialects, underlining the inclusiveness of India’s linguistic landscape. A special interactive dialogue with Pravasi Bhartiya Award recipients will offer insights into their journeys and experiences as members of the global Indian community. The evening will also include a live musical performance by the ensemble Sargam, followed by a community dinner.

Vishwa Hindi Divas, observed annually across Indian missions worldwide, aims to promote the use of Hindi as a global language of communication and cultural exchange. The occasion also coincides with the circulation of a message from the Prime Minister of India, reaffirming the language’s role in connecting Indians across borders.
