The Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) Qatar hosted an exclusive, by-invitation interactive business session with a senior delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), India, in Doha on Wednesday, 28 January 2026. The meeting took place at the ICC Ashoka Hall and brought together key stakeholders from both countries to explore new areas of cooperation.
The visiting PHDCCI delegation included representatives from leading Indian companies operating in sectors such as healthcare and wellness, food processing and agri products, automobiles and spare parts, information technology and digital services, textiles and garments, construction and infrastructure, and renewable energy. The main objective of the session was to encourage direct dialogue, promote business networking, and identify opportunities for trade and investment in Qatar.
- The programme began with a networking high tea, allowing participants to interact informally before the formal discussions
- Abdul Sathar, Vice President of IBPC Qatar, opened the session by setting the context and highlighting the growing potential for stronger business relations between India and Qatar
This was followed by a welcome address from Thaha Muhammed Abdul Kareem, President of IBPC Qatar, who spoke about the council’s role in building strong connections between Indian and Qatari businesses and supporting long-term partnerships.
Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Qatar, addressed the gathering and spoke about the solid economic ties between the two countries. He encouraged businesses to look beyond traditional sectors and explore emerging areas of collaboration.
Anuj Khanna, who led the PHDCCI delegation, thanked IBPC Qatar and the Indian Embassy for organising the session. He introduced the delegation members and stressed the importance of such interactions in opening doors to new business opportunities.
