Annual exchange of nuclear installation details marks 34 years of the bilateral agreement
India and Pakistan exchanged lists of nuclear installations and facilities today through diplomatic channels in New Delhi and Islamabad
The exchange is part of a 34-year-old agreement to ensure mutual transparency and security
The exchange was conducted under the Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear Installations and Facilities, signed on December 31, 1988, and effective since January 27, 1991
The agreement mandates both nations to share details of nuclear installations annually on January 1.
This year marks the 34th consecutive exchange under the agreement, which began on January 1, 1992. The practice highlights the continued commitment of both countries to maintain transparency and reduce the risks associated with nuclear assets
